People meet every week or every Sunday to worship and praise God. There is a reason why people are not worshiping at home and instead, they make time to go to church. What important thing to know is that the church is not a building, but the believers themselves? When people come together to worship, that is considered a church. Many people don’t bother going to church or associating themselves with any church. You may be thinking that your home prayers are keeping you going but we were commanded by God to gather and worship together. Connecting with other believers is also very important. Here are some of the functions of the church
- It is a place of worship
Believers need to know that our relationship with our creator is both public and private. It is also very important to understand that we need a private connection with God and we also need the gathering of the church. It is very possible to worship God while alone at home but the scripture has it clear that we should connect and join other worshippers for the sake of worshipping God. You will feel at the place when you are in a gathering and everyone is worshiping God. It is a spiritual fulfillment that cannot be explained. While in River Pointe church, the sermons should be true and activities that are done in the church should incorporate all believers.
- For spiritual discipline
Worship services are and will always be part of our worship. It is very important to take a break from what we have been doing throughout the week to allow the word of God to enter our hearts. We can have different formats of worshiping as long as we are worshiping the same God. Although worship can change, never at any point should you think of stopping it. We should dedicate our minds, soul, and our strength to God. You will be disciplined enough if you visit the church more often.
We also attend the River Pointe church to fellowship. It is a network of believers. We all need to receive as well as give fellowship just the same way we need love and give love.
The church is a very important part of our lives. We go to church because it’s God’s will, it is a worship place and it is a way of disciplining ourselves.
